"This was the best course I have ever taken. It has helped me pinpoint areas where I can assist children. It also gave me practical strategies for intervention and helping a child become more successful."

"My principal told me this course would change the way I teach. Even better, it has changed the way I think!"

"As we discuss/study each construct, I notice more and more former students popping into my consciousness. I wonder how much more successful they might have been if I'd taken this training before they appeared in my classroom."

"Now we have a resource to help us better understand our students' needs and strategies to support those needs from a neurodevelopmental perspective, and not just an academic/content perspective."

Schools Attuned® / Teaching All Kinds of Minds

Description:

TLCNT continues to offer multiple training sessions each year for public, private and parochial school educators. Schools Attuned training provides educators with a research-based exploration of learning and learning variations from a neurological, brain-based point of view.  Schools Attuned provides teachers with the key tools and strategies they need to manage learning differences in their classrooms.

This acclaimed program supports Response to Intervention and empowers educators to help struggling students become successful learners.  TLCNT has trained more than 3800 educators, touching the lives of thousands of children.  A 2007 research study conducted by the Fort Worth Independent School District demonstrated a positive correlation between this training and state reading and math scores.

This comprehensive professional development training provides an in-depth exploration of learning and learning variations, along with processes and tools that help educators address the diverse learning needs in their classrooms.  You will learn how the mind functions through a research-based framework of eight neurodevelopmental constructs and explore – through interactive discussions, case studies, and reflection – how an understanding of the science of learning can enhance your instructional decision-making.  As the shared belief that all students can learn is examined, you will develop skills to identify strengths and breakdowns in student learning, link them to a student’s unique learning profile, and effectively select instructional strategies that leverage a student’s strengths and help him or her overcome barriers to learning.
